Bi-Centennial WOYWW!

Happy 200th WOYWW!  Take a peek here to see what the heck this is all about.

Here is my workspace which shows a work-in-progress of something that inspired me from Tim Holtz' tattered floral challenge.  I give credit for this idea to Paula at this link.
I used some craft foam from Walmart to make the stamps using the Tattered Floral Die in a cuttlebug. It was just the right thickness to cut - the stuff at the dollar store was much thinner and didn't work.  I ran the foam thru a Xyron with repositionable adhesive to adhere to plastic/blocks.  The paper is Strathmore 400 series Acrylic paper.  The paints are my newly acquired Distress Paints!

The brayer to the right was recently used in my first attempts at gel-plate printing.  I made my own gelatin plate - loved the results.  But, I left the damn thing sitting out for a few days!  What a gross mess it made as it began to liquify and run on the table.  And, it smelled awful.  So, after much cleanup, I went ahead and ordered the non-gelatin version from Gelli-Arts!

  8. That's a great desk and I have some craft foam at home that I can punch, so you've given me some inspiration! I think the last time I made my own stamps I was about 7 and we used potatoes!!
